I Have Rights to This Now...(Im in the 30 Crowd!)

...classsic....loved this, had to share.

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tearsWith their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning. Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yaddaAnd I remember promising myself that when I grew up,There was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it And how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of Thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to myChildhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you Don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library andLook it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually writeSomebody a letter, with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! You wanted to Steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school,Your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, youJust didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation videoGames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You Actually had to use your I mag ination!! And there were no multiple levels orScreens, it was just one screenForever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a Little book called a TV Guide to find out what was On! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you Hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heatSomething up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kidsToday have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Quick Update..

Thank you again for your constant prayers and kind words...reading your posts really do make me smile. Matter of fact, I am printing all posts and giving them to my nana to show her how much people who you may not know even care and are praying!

So really quick...We went to see the Oncology Dr. on Tuesday, and he did inform us that the cancer is in stage 4. He did say he can treat, but cannot cure, which we already know that right? So anyway...she gained 5 lbs which is good, because she really hasn't had too much of an appetite. We need to get her beefed up somehow.

Anyhow, we still have one more test to do so they can proceed on where and how to treat.

My nana is still in good on the other hand, I am REALLY having a hard time. I really try hard with holding it together, but it is just so hard seeing the one you love uncomfortable. I just cannot stand to see anyone suffering, especially a loved one. So, I am really trying to find my faith and keep it strong, I am continuing to pray every day around the clock.

So...with that consider yourself updated. =)

I love you all and thank you again...

Good News and Not so Good News...

Okay well which do you want first?

How about the bad one really wants to hear or be in the position that I was in on Friday morning....we all have loved ones and you all now how special she is to me. I was sitting in the Dr's office with my nana when he delivered the news. She does have cancer. Which type? Not sure. Why aren't we sure? Well...the Dr. indeed knows that it is not in one place, in fact it is widespread. He showed us the clear results of her catscans (and boy technology...I tell a mutha!) Anyway...he showed us first her liver....the worst of all..has 14 holes in it...not good (was never an alcholic or smoker), then he showed us she has alot of fluid in her tummy, not good...then the mass in the pelvic area. She has a series of test to go through so they can possibly pinpoint a more specific area as to where it may have originated. So we should be goin back to the Dr. this week. Dr. also will be referring her to the Medical Oncology dept. to get her started with chemo ASAP.

So...on to the best news. She is in the best of spirits. My nana is a woman of faith, a strong woman, mother 0f 5, among the 5, 3 are still living. She has 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Did I mention I am the only (biological) granddaughter. you know she spoiled me especially. =) Maybe that's why she is my girl! Anyway...She is a woman of strength and has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. My nana has a really positive outlook and that is EXACTLY what she needs right now...we know how that all works right? Positive outlooks, positive results. She is a remarkable woman...also a breast cancer survivor (back in the 70's)

So...that makes me feel just a wee little better...not alot but a little. =) I think she almost took the news better than any of us.

I took it really hard, but really had to hold it together for her...
So now it is truly my time to step up my granddaughter duties and take care of her the best way I can...I truly feel I am about to step into some big shoes, as I will be pretty much the one taking her to her appt's, keeping up with her Dr. visits etc. The only bad part about this is she lives an hour away...We have her going to the hospital out here since there are more of us with transportation out this way.

With this extra responsibilities and duties that will be approaching, I will DEFINITELY need my support line! I need you all to pray, for those who believe! Please pray for my strength as stay together and keep it together for myself, Bre and other family members. My oldest cousin is not taking the news well at all. She has done so much for us, and now it is time for us to do for her.

Also...can someone pray that she PLEASE RESIGN??? Yes! She is still working...LOL! She is a supervisor for Los Angeles County Department of Social Services (welfare) you know what kind of headache she has when she comes home. But hey...that may be what keeps her goin...

THANK you to all my friends and even ones I have never met that left positive thoughts on my previous blog...means the world to me, from the bottom of my heart.

Cherish today and cherish the ones you love...

Love Always...

I Believe in the Power of you?

If so...I really really need your prayers right now. It has been a busy last few months and among them all my nana (grandma) has not been feeling good. For those of you know me personally, SHE IS my rock...and the rock of our family.

She has been having severe pain in her tummy and has not been getting clear answers. She did finally have a catscan and her Dr. called and informed her today that it IS indeed a mass and will be referring her to another Dr. So....with this...

I am asking that you please pray for my nana..I would truly truly appreciate it....

Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart..I will keep you posted.

KrewKit #7

It is LOOOONG overdue that I have posted some scrappy stuff! Life is just really crazy right now! I have some other pics to share of what I been up to..but for now, I would like to share with you my final project with Kits2Remember.

This was my first design team that I designed for and it was truly an experience... =)
I love Miss Jessica G, she is such a sweetie and a true person! The first day I met her, I said to myself, I like her! ***If you are reading Jessica....THANKS a bunch for the experience and keep up the good work and continue being real!***

KrewKit #7 had bundles and bundles of material to work with! After completing these projects I still have leftovers! That is the best thing about K2R Kits! There always seems to be plenty of leftovers! After I created the acrylic album, I made 3 cards to share with you.

This line of paper is from Polar Bear Express, I thought it was really cute! I liked the paper as well as it had a nice heavy cardstock feel to it. The papers had both solids and printed paper and double sided.

As usual, my daughter seems to be the main focus of my projects, so here I found a few pics of her doing one of her favorite things...sleeping! It was cool to see her move from her bassinet, to her Pack & Play (because she almost became longer than the length of the Bassinet), then off to her crib. My baby girl is a WILD sleeper! One panel you will see her with her feet hanging through the slats of her crib! Classic!

This book was fun to make as it is loaded with Bling, Buttons, doodling and more Buttons!

Front View of the sleeping princess!

Over and Side View....lovin all those freakin buttons!

Bassinet days....she would always somehow kick her feet out of her swaddle....

Awww....her daddy insisted on making her this darn pillow! Claimed that she had to be comfortable too...LOL!

There's that pillow again!

Below here, she was fighting her sleep, after our March of Dimes walk...she was sitting up and then finally slumped over! YES....I ran to get my camera before I straightened her out...was that bad of me??? Oh well...what she doesn't know won't hurt! LOL!

Knocked out....

It is hilarious wild she is...I really get a crack up over it. We will lay her in one way, and then in a few hours, she is laying the complete opposite...

Yes...with feet hanging out her bed...

Some cards I produced out of the KrewKit #7..

Only 7 Years Ago...

There was tragedy in our I drove to work this took me back 7 years ago. Granted I was also getting married around this time, but the pain that I felt in my heart for all the lives lost was just simply unexplainable...

Please share a moment of silence with me as we remember our fallen heros....

So on my way to work this morning the local radio station plays Mariah's song, "Hero" in which they also include audio from that day from different citizens and others. Tears start to fall from my eyes. I dedicate this song to all the heros out there...our fallen heros especially. At that one point in time, I felt a sense of unity in our country, but why does it take a tragedy to pull us together???

Anyway, I wanted to share the lyrics with you...

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away, hey yeah
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
