There was tragedy in our country.....as I drove to work this morning....it took me back 7 years ago. Granted I was also getting married around this time, but the pain that I felt in my heart for all the lives lost was just simply unexplainable...
Please share a moment of silence with me as we remember our fallen heros....
So on my way to work this morning the local radio station plays Mariah's song, "Hero" in which they also include audio from that day from different citizens and others. Tears start to fall from my eyes. I dedicate this song to all the heros out there...our fallen heros especially. At that one point in time, I felt a sense of unity in our country, but why does it take a tragedy to pull us together???
Anyway, I wanted to share the lyrics with you...
"Hero"
There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away, hey yeah
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
