Philosophy....

GREAT TRUTHS
Philosophy
GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED
:1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing Jell-O to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
1) Growing up is mandatory; growing old is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:
1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.

SUCCESS:
At age 4 success is . . not peeing in your pants.
At age 12 success is having friends.
At age 16 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 35 success is . having money.
At age 50 success is . . . having money.
At age 70 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is . having friends.
At age 80 success is . not peeing in your pants.

Pass this on to someone who could use a laugh.Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way; BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day.

Kitchen Under Construction

Well today is the day! I am getting my new kitchen cabinets installed! Better than Home Depot! Oh they look awesome, and they aren't even done yet. I got to pick the type of wood down to the type of stain, design of molding..everything! I am pretty excited as this was a big step for us. As you know remodeling a kitchen can be a little pricey....we are officially in debt! LOL! But its okay this is our home!

So last weekend we had all our cabinets knocked down, it looked horrible, but looking at it now you could never tell! We got it painted during the week as well...the color is called Tobacco Road...looks real nice. I will post some before and after pics later....

Ciao for now!

Oprah's Legends Ball

This special was truly amazing. It was so heart felt. I did indeed get teary eyed..BECAUSE...it was beautiful seeing all of those African American women recieve credit for all the hard work they gave. The legends had to deal with more open racism back then which made it even harder for them to live out their dream. TRUST when I say racism is still very much alive, but some people choose to NOT see it OR they just don;t recognize it because they don't know what to look for.

All of those women up there were strong women, oh my goodness to name a few, Rosa Parks (Rest In Peace), Coretta Scott King, Cicily Tyson, Maya Angelou, Shirley Caesar, Diahann Carroll, Elizabeth Catlett, Ruby Dee, Katherine Dunham, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Nikki Giovanni, Dorothy Height, Lena Horne, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Toni Morrison, Leontyne Price, Della Reese, Diana Ross, Naomi Sims, Tina Turner, Alice Walker, Dionne Warwick and Nancy Wilson. OMG this was incredible to see.

The poem that was read, "We Speak Your Name" was so powerful! I don't know what to say other than that, I honor Oprah for televising something like this!

I LOVE OPRAH!!!!

This weekend was a freakin BLAST!!!!

I had the best time of my life!
This past weekend, my scrapbook group planned a scrapbook retreat in Palm Springs. It was great. There were 6 of us. Let me give you a little taste of what I was dealing with this weekend. We were at a 3 bedroom villa, where each bedroom had their own bathroom wich was nice. Before hand Andrea (who hosts the retreats), asked us which is our favorite snacks and drinks. She had AMPLE supply of goodies. When we got there, she had goodie bags for all of us. She waited on us hand and foot. She made our freakin beds for cryin' out loud! Cooked us complete meals, for breakfast, lunch and dinner! even had some sweets for us at night time. She made sure we wanted nothing, we were never bored. We pretty much entertained ourselves.
Saturday we kinda hung out more than anything...some of us had massages whoch were GREAT, we went shopping at the local scrapbook store and some went to clothing stores. There was a pool and jacuzzi in the back yard, not to mention which was a private patio. We were all out there hangin out, laughing, dancing, we must have watched about 10 movies! We ate like all day! It was just awesome, totally worth the price! Check out where we were: www.sundancevillas.com, we were in the Victoria Villa.
If you are interetsed in a scrapbook retreat and you are in Southern Cali area here is the website: www.psletsscrap.com I wish I could go back!!!

If my dad heard me say, "I'm tired", I would hear one of the following:

1. Do you know me and your mama use to come home from parties at 4 in the morning and get back up at 6:00 in the morning for work?
2. You are too young to be tired!

I'm sorry but times have just completely changed. The things you use to do back then....no way possible you can do them today. Sorry, Chaw-lie!
So, as most of you know I started back to school this quarter and I got this promotion at work right? I am burnt out! How am I supposed to be focused enough on the weekends to scrap?! I mean this is just plaine ole ridiculous! I work 10 hour shifts each day, MW I am in class right after work till 8pm, then TR I am in class from 7-10pm, right after work... I think my priorites are a little jacked up though, because I could be looking in my text books rather than blogging and thinking about all the other fun things I could be doing, like completing my All About Me Book that needs to be done by this Saturday!! Hello!?

I am taking this music class...and I am just too through! I have never had any musical background, and we are expected to learn to read music, write it, and play it on a Soprano Recorder! Oh yeah...and teach a lesson plan! By the way, it is Music in the Classroom in case you were wondering...AND it is required! ARGHH!!!! I dread this class! And because we are on a 10 week quarter system it makes it more complicated because he teaches way to quick! Its not that I don't appreciate music, but learning to play it is compicated, especially if you are an adult with 100 million things on your mind! Now, give me some music and I can sure dnace to it! And I have rhythm and I can find the beat! But play it? Thats a different story!
Okay I am done venting....
Ciao!

1st Laker Playoff Game...

Went pretty sour. In my opinion the refs of course were NOT in our favor. True, we were behind majority of the time, but boy were they callin some real bad calls, and didn't make any right calls! Well they didn't do so well for the first game, hopefully we can take the next game. Lakers need to work on their ball control, way too many turnovers!

Other than the Laker Game, we invited some family and friends over for BBQ it was a good day. We had carne asada, chicken, hot links, greens, corn on the cop, macaroni salad and potato salad....I think I got everything. Oh! Baked beans! How can I forget the beans! Everything was yummy!

70 Things to Ponder on....

I was searching on-line for some lists last night to share some tips with you. I love lists and I love quotes!! I found a list and it really spoke to ME. No, the list doesn't give you a grand new way to use ribbon...but it helps you understand how important it is to have a life where ribbon makes you happy. No, it doesn't give you some grand newembellishment idea...but it does tell you how to stop and take the time to see those things in life that make your your days full of embellished moments. No, this list won't map out a brand newway for you to organize your scrapbook room/area...but it will free you to enjoy everything around you and feel blessed for themess or the organization. So, I made the decision to send you this list of things for you to remember to have a wonderful life so you can enjoy all the moments you find to work on your favorite scrapbooks!! I hope you find some things on this list that you need. I found a lot of things I need to remember!!! 70 AND DO NOT EVER FORGET. FOR EVEN A DAY HOW VERY SPECIAL YOU ARE !

Went on a mini shopping spree today!

Yes! I had fun today, I went shopping! The only funny thing about it is I didn't buy not one scrap related item! Isn't that something? Lane Bryant was having a really nice sale 25% off everything, and I had one of those nice gift cheques, like if you spend $225, you get $75.00 off. taht was nice. Since I am kinda tall, they are the only place I can find just the right fit. they had some cute skirts and nice summer shirts. Then I hit up Mervyn's cause the cashier that was ringing me up had the nerve to tell me that they were having a store wide sale too! All their shoes were like 50% off and had some really cute sandals, but you can imagine what the shoe isle looked like! Like a toy isle on Christmas Eve! THEN...off to Target! Bought some more clothes and some things for around the house.

Now, you may be asking yourself, I hit up even Target and didn't buy no scrapbook stuff?! You gotta remember, I gotta look good when I scrap right!?? HA HA HAA!! No seriously, I always indulge in supplies, so I figured I get some clothes this time, for work and play.
I met my sister and nephew for lunch at Chilis which was all good...I am still full.
Overall I had a good day!

Holla!!

The weather was nice, opened up the sun/moon roof cruised to my music....I hated to get out of the car. Nothing like rollin in your car feeling the breeze while playng your music!

The mountains are becoming so green from all the rain, some of the mountains still have snow on them, it was about 84 defrees today, just lovely! Hearing birds chir, birds fly, kids playing outside...nice!

Please tell me WHY is it scheduled to rain again? They said tomorrow..but I didn't see any clouds in the sky. I guess we will see tomorrow morning!

Monday Blues...

Well, back to work today and still no computer! I work at a place where most the communication is done on the computer! Wow! what is a girl to do? Am I upset that I can't get any work done? Or more upset that I can't get on the internet to check my mail, go to my Yahoo Group, check my blog and other favorite blogs, or see who if any has left any comments on My PLace? LOL!! Well the latter is the truth! Well I officially started my new job today, and did some training. They do job shadowing for 3 months...whoa! Its a lot to learn, but it was confessed that we were being kinda thrown into the job! So wish me luck.
Also school started back today. ARGH! Do you know how difficult it is to pass your home to go to class and sit for 2 hours!!?? What a dread! Found out that one of my text books is running $100.00...and thats just one class, got one more tomorrow! I am blessed to work for a company that pays for your education! WOO HOO...maybe I will see if I can get reimbursed for my text books..I will give it a try.
Anyway, well late nights for me at least for this future quarter ahead of me.
Ciao for now!

I am sooooo TIRED!!!

How am I going to make it through the week. What a week it has been.
Yesterday I went back to the dentist to make sure I was healing okay. Wasn't sure if everything was okay because I am still experiencing some discomfort. So anyway, the dentist is in Riverside....usually which would be a maybe a 20 minute drive....why on earth did it take me an entire hour!!!! Now, see I was really disturbed because I don't do traffic! My job is so close, I can take surface streets to get there, so you know I was really in a bad mood! Not only that I was 30 minites late for my appointment. Accident after accidnet after accident!

So, I am kinda dreading this weekend coming up just because I am totally exhausted....My sororoity has our state meeting in Berkely this year, which means we were either flying or driving. Well survey said...we were driving. What a long trip it will be. At least there will be a few of us, so I guess that will be cool. I am NOT looking forward to the LONG meeting on Saturday, becuase when I say it is ALL DAY.....it is ALL DAY, lilke a regular business day!

Anyway, I am just exhausted...I need to find some strenth from somehwere! Help me!

National Girlfriends Day!! Whoop Whoop!!!

National Girlfriend and Sister's Week I am only as strong as I can be because of the friends I have. To the cool women that have touched my life. Here's to you...National Girlfriends Day. What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants and shopping, lunching, and traveling girls?Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!

TO MY GIRLFRIENDS!

It is good to be a woman:
1. We got off the Titanic first.
2. We can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses.
3 Taxis stop for us.
4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing.
5. No fashion faux pas we make, could ever rival the Speedo.
6. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves.
7. If we forget to shave, no one has to know.
8. We can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end.
9. We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates arestill there.
10. We have the ability to dress ourselves.
11. We can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked.
12. If we marry someone 20 years younger, we are aware that we will look like an idiot.
13. We will never regret piercing our ears.
14. There are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems.
15. We can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because theyaren't listening anyway.

American Idol

I love watching the auditions!!! They have me dying hysterically!
We saw:
The girl from another country - hope she bought a round trip ticket
The girl who overdid it with her tan - why did her mama have no teeth?
The human jumpin bean - why is he going to Hollywood?
Why in the heck were all those people messing up on the Patti Labelle song!
My goodness!! Great fun!

37 Vicodens Later...

Okay....its done its over with! Oral surgery really SUCKS!!!
I hope no one ever asks me the truth about the dentist!!! Because they will defiantely be getting the turth. See its the aftermath that gets you caught up like a mutha!

I had oral surgery on Tuesday and when I realized I had 3 Vicodens left on Sunday, I thought I better stop and force myself off them since I had to go back to work on Tuesday. I guess I just didn't want to feel any pain! But there is still pain.

It really sucked. Slowly but surely my stitches are finally starting to come out...they are supposed to, I didn't yank on them.
But thanks to my mom, she took very good care of me while Reggie went to work everyday. Those Vicodens aint no joke!

I hate going to the dentist, but at least it is taken care of! I have a list of food items that I can't wait to eat! Umm...to name a few I need to go to the following places or eat the following items:
Chilis (Cajun Chicken Sandwhich)
Lucys (cheese enchilladas or chicken enchilladas)
BBQ (Ribs & Hotlinks)
Umm...can't wait.

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Im nervous!

Lawd, please be with me.....I am getting my wisdom teethpulled tomorrow 8am. I can't eat or drink anything past midnight tonight. I guess this will be a good way to get a jump start in losing some weight! Ha! Anyway, I am a little nervous about the aftermath. I seem to have a low tolerance for pain, so we will see. Anyway, wish me luck. May not post for a couple of days!

Sat for about 7 hours. Then went to Among Friends cause she was having a sale on some things. After that met Reg at Farmer Boys for dinner and then we went to Ontario Mills to see a movie, FunWith Dick & Jane. Then after the movie was over we walked around for a bit then met up with Ray & Gissel at some Market Broiler place where we had some drinks and ate a little something.
Today, we had breakfast with Ray & Gissel at IHOP, still stuffed. came back home went back to sleep. Reg and Nathan just left about 30 minutes ago to the L.A. Auto Show. I won't be seeing him for the rest of the day! Those men love the cars! Tellin me, "Babe I am gonna bring back a lot of pictures for you to scrapbook!" ME? OKAY! Anyway...now I am sitting
here about to force myself up to do my housework and go to the grocery store! GET UP TRISHA!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clara, John, and Reg bringing in the new year...
Janee' & Clara bringing in the new year...
Nathan and Melissa bringing in the new year....
Me and Reg Bringing in the New Year!
This year we celebrated at home with Nathan and his girlfriend Melissa. We stayed at home liek we have the past couple of years, I really don't like the idea of being out on New Years Eve. We started off the night watching the first season of the Dave Chappel show which was hillarious as hell! During that we got full off of the nacho buffet we had. They guys drank some beer and closer to midnight we were getting prepped for the stroke of 12. We had all kinds of party favors, noise makers, poppers, fireworks, etc. Our next door neighbors, John, Clara, and Janee' came over to join us in the fun. After that we came in and had ice cream with egg nog and fudge and carmel toppings, it was so good.
We had fun.
