Check it out! K2R Krew Kit's are Here!









Well here it is! Your 1st look at the very first KrewKit! Me and the Krew have been working away at our projects! I had fun with this because it was something different for me...

Yes, if you can;t tell already, I think I am becoming an acrylic junkie, but I think I will place the blame on Jessica with K2R because she showed me the ropes with this stuff! So if you are reading Jessica...how could you do this to me?? Anyway...


The papers that are used in this kit come from a brand new line that was introduced at CHA called Paper Trunk! First time I saw them, I knew it would be a favorite...so like any other insane scrapper, I just grabbed every paper they had in the collection, not really knowing what I was going to do with it, BUT I did know it was pretty cute! So why not I figured! Next thing I know....our first KrewKit project included Paper Trunk! Yahooo!!!!


In the kit also included that cool funky little wheel and how cute it turned out!


In my project I used Making Memories acylic paint, (the orange, green, red), my white poster paint Sharpie Pen, of course some exctra buttons and I used felt shaped butterfly (can you see the antennae)...my girlfriend made it for me.. =)

Layouts from the "No Shopping Challenge"










Here are a few of my most recent layouts that I have done on the "No Shopping Challenge" that my Yahoo group is doing! We are all challenging ourselves to the max and we are all doing a great job! Basically if you are not too sure what a No Shopping Challenge is...well the name speaks for itself! Basically the idea is to try and use from your stash at home instead of buying...
The theory is good, but what happens after the challenge is over? Thats what I am worried about, because I already have some what of a mental list as to items I need to get! Anyhow...I hope you enjoy! Have a great weekend!

Reg went to Six Flags Magic Mountain the other day with is brother and brought his baby girl back some goods! She got a onesie that read, "Superbaby" AND it had a pink cape! How cute is that! I wanted to get better pics but being that she has a little cold, she gets a pass for posing!
So I just snapped all the pics I could!
She looks too cute! You should had seen her before she kicked off her pink Converse! What!?

Customer Appreciation!

Where is the scustomer service these days? I mean don't get mad at me cause you chose McDonalds to be your place of employment! It's not my fault you had a bad day, and you got mad cause I wanted paper and plastic to bag my gorceries! Don't be rollin your eyes at me! I saw you...I'm just saying...don't be mad at me!

Customer service has reached its ALL TIME LOW. Sucks, because customer service is a high priority for me! Customer service is what keeps people coming back for more business! Hello!?

So today...I am doing my part..in giving my own customer appreciation....
Thanks to all of my faithful blog readers! I have to admit, I have really surprised myself as to how much I been bloggin lately! Is it just me or do you like seeing that there is an extra comment for your post? Is is just me that you may frown if you don't get any comments? Is it just me!? =)

Entertainment 4-1-1

Congratulations to Actress Halle Berry. Berry gave birth to a 7lb 14 ounce baby girl last weekend. Berry and boyfriend Model Gabriel Aubry are over the moon with their little girl, Nahla Ariela Aubry. Will little Nahla be the next cover girl of a magazine? Celebrity baby pics go for millions. Will Halle Berry be the next big celebrity with a million dollar deal?

Will Smith sets the record straight: he is not a scientologist. A recent article in Radar magazine named Smith and his wife Jada as new members of the religion, but Will says this is not true. Will states I am a Christian and a student of all religions. Smith feels he is being labeled a scientologist because of his friendship with Tom Cruise, who is the religion's most famous member.

Mariah Carey will serve as a celebrity judge on American Idol on April 15th, the same day her new album, E=MC2, hits stores. The lead single is a song called Touch My Body. This year is going to be busy for Carey. Her new Lee Daniels' movie Tennessee comes out, and she has also filmed a cameo for his movie Push with Lenny Kravitz and Mo'Nique.

Proclaiming he's all grown up, Usher says he's ready to release his new album, Here I Am. The album comes out in June. Usher says the past year has been one of growth. He got married, had a son and lost his father.

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is Sex and the City, based on the hit HBO series. The movie comes out in late May with all of the original stars. Word has it the buzz is so hot on this movie that negotiations are already underway for a sequel.

At the movies, it's Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns starring Angela Bassett, Rick Fox, Jennifer Lewis, David and Tamala Mann and Tyler Perry. The TBS network has already purchased the broadcast rights for the movie for $8 million. The movie will air on the network in late August 2010.

The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin says she is planning on paying up on her back taxes. Franklin owes $20,000 in back taxes on her Detroit mansion. The tax collectors were in a dispute with Franklin over a $445.00 bill from 2004.

Will Michael Jackson lose his Neverland Ranch? Jackson recently negotiated a deal that will put off foreclosure proceedings until mid May. In other Jackson news, big brother Tito hinted in a recent interview that the Jackson clan may be moving to England. For years, the Jackson clan has been under constant media scrutiny, and Tito says they are tired of it. Will the Jacksons make the move to England if they lose their homes in the U.S.?

Production has wrapped on the movie The Secret Life Of Bees. The movie stars Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Dakota Fanning. The movie is due in theatres this fall.

Actor Terrence Howard, who is currently starring on Broadway in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, has just signed a record deal with Columbia Records. Howard plays the guitar, and he is just starting to show off his musical side. The album, Terrence Howard Presents Me And The Band Of Kings, is coming out this fall. Howard is also in talks for two musical projects: one about Country Singer Charlie Pride and the other about Motown Legend Rick James.

For the first time in its 116 year history, a black man is on the cover of Vogue magazine. Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball Sensation Lebron James is on the April cover with Supermodel Gisele Bundchen. It's their annual shape issue showcasing the best bodies in the world.

Actress Gabrielle Union has joined the cast of Cadillac Records. The movie, about the start of the legendary Chess Records, also stars Beyonce, Cedric The Entertainer and Columbus Short.

Is Prophetess Juanita Bynum secretly trying to get back with her estranged husband, Bishop Thomas Weeks? Sources say she has been sending him text messages pleading with him to work it out. Bishop Weeks has been through a lot, and so has Bynum. Can they get over the trauma of the past few months? Their respective ministries have suffered and the fall out continues.

British Director Anthony Minghella passed away earlier this week. Minghella won an Academy Award a few years ago for the movie The English Patient. He also directed the pilot for the Jill Scott HBO movie, The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency. The pilot was the starting project for this feature to become a new HBO series. Minghella was also scheduled to direct the series. There's no word on who will replace him in the project.

Vivica A. Fox is coming to VH1. Vivica will be hosting their new reality show Glam God. The search is on for the next great celebrity stylist. The winner will get a chance to style an A-List Celebrity, and get a $100,000 grand prize.

Kirstie Alley is teaming up with Oprah Winfrey. Alley, 57, has signed a deal with Harpo Productions to develop projects, which could include a daytime show. Alley recently left Jenny Craig as their weight loss spokesperson to launch her own weight loss brand.

Singer India.Arie is headed to Broadway. Arie will be starring in the Ntozake Shange classic For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enough. The production originally debuted in 1977. Previews start in July, and it officially opens on Broadway August 2nd. The stage play looks at the experience of being a black woman in America through the eyes of seven characters.

Regina Belle will be releasing her first gospel album this spring. The album, Love Forever Shines, features the lead single God Is Good. Belle is due in Philadelphia on May 13th. She's doing two appearances, one at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church and the other at Sharon Baptist Church.

Look for a new album from Singer John Legend this summer.

MTV is gearing up for a new reality show featuring the kids of celebrities. Some of the offspring include Al B. Sure, Jr., Bobby Brown's oldest son and MC Hammer's daughter. The show, Rock The Cradle, debuts April 3rd.

The TV version of A Raisin In The Sun with Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald is coming out on DVD May 6th.
Harrison Ford returns as "Indiana Jones" in the new movie, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Despite being in his 60's, Ford can still do the wild stunts. The movie opens in theatres May 22nd.

Actor Laurence Fishburne is headed to Broadway. Fishburne will be starring in a one man show based on the life of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. Previews start April 12th.

More Acrylic!






Acrylic! So fun to work with! See, some of my friends pick on me because they "claim" that I do more mini projects than 12x12 layouts! Just when I try to get back into focusing on doing actual pages, here comes this acrylic STUFF! Wow..and guess what!? It comes in all sorts of different sizes and shapes! So...yes....I do find myself doing more of these acrylic projects and just as chunky as they wanna be! I LOVE chunk! Chunk = Goodness!!! Was I kinda nervous in working with it? Yup! I just took a dive! I later found out that there really is no right or wrong way to use acrylic. I guess, it really just depends on YOU!
Remember, there are no mistakes in scrapbooking right!?
In this project I used the scallpop acrylic pages and used one of my favorite paper lines, Love, Elsie (Roxie Line).

$5 Pizza vs "Regular" Paid Pizza!

What the hell!?

Seriously? You sell a different type of pizza for the $5 deals? Am I choosing your pizza place, becuase I like the taste of Your Pizza!? Okay first let me just put the name out there...PIZZA HUT! (Pizza Mia Pizza).
Let me set the scenario....

A few of us met up at Collective Journeys last night for their Among Friends and did some scrappin. We thought that it would be cool to just order pizza and have it delivered to ($5 never tasted so good)...yeah right...that is the advertisement you would hear on the their commercial advertising this $5 pizza.

So when we open up the 4 boxes we ordered, most of therm had been slided to one side as if the driver took a corner real fast OR he dropped them! We started eating, and I was the first to say, "This pizza taste frozen!" And so another friend agreed...so what the hell? I usually LOVE Pizza Hut AND the ALL the orange grease that is accompanied by it!

A few others notice the same thing, barely any sauce and it was just plain ole' NASTY! So my girlfriend calls and ask, "What happened to the pizza?" the dummy on the other end let the cat out the bag and honestly says, "Umm, we cooked it the night before...", WHAT!? So we were eating frozen pizza? Basically, yes...

So...then we got to speak to a manager...again.."What happen to our pizza?" She then explained that there is a BIG difference in the $5 pizza compared to regular priced pizza...WOW! Ok...
So...do you think if I would had known that, we wouldn't had chosen the $5! I guess you get what you pay for, but dang! Frozen Pizza?

Just giving you a heads up!
It was disgusting! I could had ate some Jenos Frozen Pizza at home...

Ready For a Laugh?






Okay...so Sunday night me and my mom were at Target and I saw this wonderful feather boa that I could wear in light of St. Pattys day. So I bought it. Along with my boa, my mom made her famous poundcake and I asked her to dye it GREEN AND I made GREEN rice crispy treats!

Y-U-M-M-Y! Yes indeedy! Everything was a hit at work! I was really aiming for some smiles and a little bit of laughter at work cause we all need it!

So I thought that I would get my "outfit together" so that I could walk in with a BANG at work! Diva Style! LOL! About 2 years ago I found these WAY OVERSIZED sunglasses with gold rims, at a seasonal halloween store...snagged them up just cause they are so funny and make me laugh EVERY time!


So...this is what things looked like when I walked out the door this morning! LOL! AND NO I DID NOT DRIVE THIS WAY TO WORK!!! LOL!!! (didn't have the guts!) LOL!

Words For the Week

Okay since I may be on my way to finally finding a church home, I think it would be cool to share a message with you that YOU may be able to use.

I am currently attending Life Changing Ministries and I can literally walk from my house if I ever have too. I am hoping to get Bre baptized there as well. I like the way Pastor Reginald Woods shares his message. Every sunday he prints out a worksheet for us to go along with him...makes you pay attention! So each Sunday, I will try my best to reiterate the word that I received!

So anyway...the message for today was a part 3 segment of "REWIND BE KIND"
Purpose of the message was to GET US TO TREAT OTHER MORE KINDLY, using day to day kindness in our day to day relations.

I immediately thought of ALL the people that should had been at this service! Maybe I can get the CD and maybe anonymously mail it to people! I won't be specific cause some of my coworkers read my blog...but some pepople FOR SURE could use this message!

He talked abut the need for Kindness Social Etiquite 101.
Question: Do you start your day off in the workplace with a "Good Morning Girlfriend!" OR "Good Morning so and so!" OR are you one of those individuals that greet your co-worker /staff member like this: "Umm...did you get that report done?" OR "Staff meeting in 5 minutes!"

Hello...can we rewind please!? Why do people feel the need to start their day off with either asking questions or making crazy requests??? It is just rude to engage into business this way!

How about a simple salutation or greeting? I mean I don't know about you...but thats how I was raised...out of respect..you speak with a greeting...
Oh..then he goes and talks about those in position: (Bosses, Supervisors and/or parents)
People in these positions should keep the following in mind:
  • If you are a leader, STILL be kind and considerate!
  • TOO many leaders feel they have a free pass to be harsh on those under them
  • If you are a leader...REMEMBER leaders have masters too and YOU too will be put in check!
  • Don't forget God will put you in check if you are just downright unfair!
  • Remember that people are people first and foremost!

With that said..the conclusion to todays words is: KINDNESS SHOULD NOT BE AN ACT BUT A DAY TO DAY LIFESTYLE!

Need to Learn How to Balance...

Well it seems as though the days just aren't long enough, to accomplish what needs to get done. You see, you know its bad when you actually think about what is a priority..scrapping OR cleaning house? I mean how bad does the house really look? I mean I do have an excuse...Ihave a infant in the house, so do I get a pass for that? Oh come on...I would give you a pass!

So anyway, I have things I really need to take care of (scrap wise)
  • Complete K2R samples and projects (priority)
  • Finish cleaning room and putting things in their designated spots
  • Put all my dog-eared pages from my magazines in my inspiration book to eventually scraplift
  • Complete swaps and challenges I am in (actually this should be 2nd)
  • Plan my National Scrapbook Day for "Who Gives a Scrap" Yahoo group
  • The list can go on..

Home front things that need to get done:

  • Find Bre some walking shoes, cause it will be any day now...
  • Do the anual spring cleaning including (cleaning the garage, the weight room which has officially turned into the "junk" room
  • Really do something with the front and back yard...it is hideous! Surprised that Nalla hasn't got lost back there in the jungle!
  • I really need to sort through the clothes in my closet...half of them I don't wear, so I will be making a pile for a womens shelter.

Anyway...I guess have things to do hugh? Well before I do anything I have a comedy show to go to tonight at the Ontario Improv to see Arnez J and then tomorrow off to Oceanside to see my girlfriend Nichole and her baby Jayla.

4-1-1 Entertainment for the Week (3/10/08)

MY COMMENTS ARE IN PURPLE...

Bishop Thomas Weeks finally fesses up! Bishop Weeks pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault for beating Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Weeks apologized to his wife in court for beating her up in an Atlanta parking lot last August. Weeks stated he grabbed Bynum, threw her to the ground and kicked her. Weeks has been sentenced to three years probation, and he must undergo violence and anger counseling. He must also do 200 hours of community service, and it can't be church related. (why did he lie about this?)

Reps for Star Jones are denying reports that she has kicked her hubby of 3 ½ years to the curb. Where's Al? Over the past few weeks, Al Reynolds has been out of sight. Sources say he is in Miami. Late last year, Star Jones lost her Court TV show, and she has been trying to find steady work. In the meantime, her hubby, Al, has yet to find a job because he stopped working when he met her. There has been a lot of tension in the Jones-Reynolds household because someone has to get a job, and Star feels it's about time Al started pulling his weight. Has Al been using Star? Has she finally seen the light, or is she still paying the bills and standing by her man? (He needs a job!!!)

The soundtrack for Tyler Perry's Meets The Browns comes out on the 18th. The soundtrack will feature the music of Jill Scott, Musiq, Kelly Rowland, Brandy and Chaka Khan. The movie, starring Angela Bassett and Rick Fox, opens in theatres on the 21st. (Can't wait to see this one...I love me some Angela!)

Speaking of Angela, she's on a roll. In addition to starring in Meet The Browns, she has signed on for the new bio pic about the late rap icon The Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls). Bassett will play Biggie's mom, Voletta Wallace, in the movie about Biggie. Brooklyn Rapper Jamal Woolard will play Biggie, and Derek Luke will play P Diddy.

Beyonce is taking a break from recording to concentrate on her acting career. Filming has already started on Cadillac Records. Beyonce is playing the legendary Etta James in the movie about the start of Chess Records. Beyonce has also signed on for the movie Obsessed. Beyonce will star along with Actor Idris Elba in a movie about a married man who is dealing with a female stalker. Beyonce will play Elba's wife.

The I.R.S. is investigating Gospel Great Yolanda Adams. The 46-year old Adams failed to show up at a Houston court to answer questions about her finances over the past six years. (Why aren't celebrities staying up on this mess! They aren't exempt!)

Janet Jackson is currently planning her upcoming tour. In addition to dates in the states, Jackson is planning on touring the world including Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe. Jackson is also planning on releasing a book about her weight struggles. (Hmmm...so why did she cancel her appearance on SNL for this Saturday? Is it because her album is another bust!? So now they have Mariah...)

Oprah Winfrey is in talks with Steven Spielberg to recreate The Color Purple movie. The 1985 version starred Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah wants the new movie to star Fantasia, who played the role of "Celie"on Broadway. (Big Give...didn't do too well)

Lionel Richie will be honored at ASCAP's annual awards. Richie is getting the Golden Note Award on April 9th. This award is given to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved great career milestones. Past winners include Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones and Jermaine Dupri.

Congratulations to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. The songwriting and producing team were recently inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Gamble and Huff were the architects of The Sound Of Philadelphia, and they talk about their incredible career on our website. Basketball Star LeBron James a cover guy? YES! The Cleveland Cavaliers star will be on the cover of an upcoming edition of Vogue magazine's shape issue.

Now that the writers' strike is over, get ready for the '24' TV movie. The two-hour movie will be a prequel to the seventh season, which kicks off in January 2008. The 2007-2008 season was deep-sixed due to the writers strike, and Kiefer Sutherland's 48-day jail sentence. Sutherland plays the show's star "Jack Bauer."

Former Olympic Darling Marion Jones has started her six month jail term. Jones is serving jail time for lying to investigators about using steroids, and her role in a check fraud scam. Jones is in a Texas facility. During the 2000 games, Jones was the most famous female athlete in the world.
(Is she the only who actually had to serve time? What about the other ones? Dang Marion! And Barry!!)

Regina Belle will be releasing her first gospel album this spring. The album, Love Forever Shines, features the lead single God Is Good. Belle is due in Philadelphia on May 13th. She's doing two appearances, one at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church and the other at Sharon Baptist Church.

When will Kimora Lee Simmons reveal all? Sources say Simmons is expecting a baby with boyfriend Actor Dijmon Hounsou. Simmons has two daughters with ex-husband, Record Mogul Russell Simmons. (Wow...should be interesting)

Erykah Badu is the April cover girl for Essence magazine. Badu talks about her new album Amerykah and her children. Badu also reflects on past loves Andre 3000, Rapper Common and Rapper The D.O.C. When asked >about the new man in her life, Badu clams up saying she doesn't want to talk about her new love, but she is very happy. (Glad she is back)

Jill Scott is coming to HBO with a new series. Scott will be starring >in the TV series The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Scott filmed the >pilot in Africa with Actor Idris Elba. 13 episodes have been ordered. Anika Noni Rose will be co-starring with Scott. Rose is currently starring with Terrence Howard (Yummo) in the Broadway revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. She's best known for her work in the movie Dreamgirls. (Love me some Jill!)

That's So Raven Star Raven Symone is gearing up for a 55-city tour. Raven is planning a pajama themed party where concert goers can bring their PJ's. She will be at the Liacouras Center this spring.

Alicia Keys recently wrapped up work on her new movie with Queen Latifah and Jennifer Hudson. The movie, The Secret Life Of Bees, may be released this year. In the meantime, Keys is about to go on tour with Ne-Yo and American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks.

The show, Rock The Cradle, debuts April 3rd. (Dang! Anyone down to do a reality show? Seems that anyone can do one these days...)

The TV version of A Raisin In The Sun with Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald is coming out on DVD May 6th. (Boo...on P.Diddy)

Harrison Ford returns as "Indiana Jones" in the new movie, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Despite being in his 60's, Ford can still do the wild stunts. The movie opens in theatres May 22nd.

Actor Laurence Fishburne is headed to Broadway. Fishburne will be starring in a one man show based on the life of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. Previews start April 12th.

Mariah Carey's new album, E=MC2, arrives in stores April 15th. The lead single is a song called Touch My Body.

Will Smith's I Am Legend is coming out on DVD April 8th.

Time Got Me!

Okay so, this is the 2nd day in a row that I was fooled by the sun not being up when my alarm clock rang...MAN! I keep on thinking I have time to spare in the morning! Before the time changed, at least it was daylight shining through my window...now its just plain ole' dark!
Do you know how hard that is? I thought it was kinda funny on Sunday morning, how empty the church congregation was....seems like the time change messed up a few people! LOL!

My internal clock is still adjusting...at night I am not tired, but the clock may read midnight! I guess I just need to force myself! Wish me luck in the morning to get up on time!

Acrylic Baby Album





So this weekend I attended SoCal's monthly crop and yesterday I designed this acrylic album for Jessica with K2R.

Materials used:
  • Clear Scraps "Baby" Acrylic Album
  • Making Memories Blossoms & Buttons (Garden Party)
  • Basic Grey Rub-ons
  • White Poster Paint Sharpie Pen (acid free and photo safe)
  • Assorted Ribbon

It was deifnately a challenge making this album as I have never done a word album before. At the last few expos, the chipboard word albums were very popular and the lines were long for make and takes. I decided to pass and thought it looked too time consuming! However, I have to say, it was pretty fun making this album, love the colors especially!

I Made It!!!!

WOW!!!

Okay, I have been sitting on the edge of my seat, every day, checking my email everyday, checking Jessica’s blog (owner of Kits2Remember) everyday waiting for the announcement!

I tell you what I truly think this is a blessing for me….I am a very humble individual and I guess maybe sometimes don’t give myself enough credit when due. My husband tells me all the time, “Babe, you do nice work!” But of course the thought crosses my mind….does he feel obligated to tell me this! LOL! Does he really mean it? Well I guess I am good enough for Miss Jessica! Thanks Jessica, I am truly honored to be apart of your team! I have had the pleasure of meeting you online, finally meeting you at the Desert Scrapbook Retreat in January, which was a pleasure. One of the evenings at the retreat, we (myself, Alondra and Jessica), were in the little restaurant, having some snacks and some grown ladies talk…and afterwards Alondra and I were talking about how down to earth Jessica was! I SO respect her hard work and vision in her company!

So anyway…back to my blessings! So I get this email from Jessica informing me I have been chosen, I was at work and I think I felt my heart smash my toes, cause it dropped hard and fast! I doubted myself because I have NEVER done any submissions to anyone! NEVER requested any submissions for publications, NEVER have done samples for LSS’s, nothing..so I thought my chance was pretty slim! But look! This is a lesson to self…Doesn’t hurt to try, never doubt yourself! ALWAYS believe in yourself! (Thanks for proving me wrong Jessica!)

I also need to share that I also taught a class last night for the first time at the Redlands Housing Authority Community Center. I felt really blessed to be able to teach a class for FREE using my stash, to show someone else less fortunate than me to make some really creative stuff! We made a cute paper bag album, and everyone had a good time. I was really nervous, but everything worked out great! Thanks Janice for setting that up for me! Hopefully we can do a series!

Pants on Her Head....



Yeah she may not look like me but she definately is silly like me! Well her dad put her pants onher head and of course the scrapbook mommy had to tell him to put them back on so I can snap some pics! Is that mean? Well I thought she looked cute! LOL! These are my most fav pajamas to put her in, they are made of terrycloth and the colors are so cute! (Thanks Jennifer!)

Arrgghhh...so what is my excuse for not keeping up this blog? I mean how hard is it?
I look at all of my friends posts and they are all elaborate, layouts, challenges, etc! Ya know? My friends are really doing there thing, and doing a really good job at keeping their blogs up! Go girls for all you girls reading my little stinkin post! I'm trying..but sometimes I just don't get around to it. Maybe what I need to do is start making blogger.com my first pit stop!
Everytime I log on I check the following:
  • My email is #1 priority
  • Scrapbook.com (my private messages, then the message boards I belong too)
  • My beloved Yahoo group
  • My Space
  • then....blogger.com

So maybe what I can do is rearrange a few of these so I make blogger.com one of my first stops!

Right Now!

Okay...I just got tagged by NannyGoat Nan.....and I must blog about what I am doing right now.

Hmm...what am I doing now??? I am currently watching 20/20. This is a good segment, speaking about anger in America and us as people losing it...who gets angrier? Men or women? Most people onhere were saying men...very interesting.

Happy New Years!

Okay thanks to Adrian for getting on my butt asking me when I was going to update my blog.

SO much has been going on it's unreal!
I am hoping for a great 2008, I have high goals for myself and I hope to accomplish at least half! Saying all may be a little unrealistic but hey, can't blame a girl for honestly trying!
I will try and list a few of my goals:

Non Scrap Related:
  • Focus in becoming debt free
  • Start to eat healthier
  • Stop going out to eat so much at work (everyday) and cook more at home.
  • Working out
  • Keeping up on my blog
  • Maintain my journal for Miss Breanna
  • (oh yeah) and try to maintain my blog!

Scrap Related:

  • Ummm...first and foremost, find a lab that still process 110 film! (Don't laugh)
  • Try and stay updated with my photos and not fall behind
  • Back up my photos
  • Travel to new stores
  • Try new techniques
  • Scrap more, shop less

Okay so that is good for now....

For some reason I was just not into the Christmas season this year and it could possibly be to the passing of my "papa" my grandpa. The funeral was held yesterday and we said our final goodbyes. I really hope the family can get it together...seriously...you know how it is....

I had a series of crazy events that happened to me on Friday, like it was Freaky Friday...made me laugh the next day...lets see..in no particular order:

  • My back passenger window regulator decides to break before our 5 day rain!? WTH!? My 6 month old has a cold...I just got the car in NOVEMBER....can anyone tell me why my EXTENDED WARRANTY that I purchased had not had all the paperwork processed yet!?
  • I was on my way out of town for funeral business...so I had to rent a car. I ended up with a HUGE black Suburban...it was really nice though...huge car, had a lot of booty!
  • The rain was horrible
  • My baby girl threw up peaches all in my face, went in my shirt, bra and Tiffany linked necklace....YUCK!
  • Saving the best for last..I get home 10:30pm that night and I had to break into my own home...the only keys I had were the keys to the rental as my car was in the shop that day...the look on my dogs face...priceless...I felt like a criminal, hands all whelped up and scratched! LOL! I had to climb UP into the window...of a chair, butt first so I could land on my dresser...Lord have mercy! It was a site to see...

Anyway, it is day 4 of the rain, supposed to have 5 days...maybe one last day? I like the rain as long as I am indoors, cause people lose their freaking minds outside on the road.

Adrian, are you happy now? I hope you read every bit of my post and got a little laugh out of it.

What Are You Thankful For?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am SO thankful for so much! My biggest blessing in 2007 was the birth of my baby girl! If you know me...you know we have tried for SO long and our prayers finally came through. Everything happens for a reason on HIS watch...not ours.
I am thankful for my job, that helps support myself and my family, my loving parents that watch our new little one while we are at work, my new "family car", my degree that I finally obtained (hallelujiah!!!), food on the table, health, and so much more.

This morning, I woke up early and met up with my Sorors of ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INC! and some interest to help serve the homeless. This is a tradition that we do every year to help the less fortunate. We went early to help basically set up, get items cleaned up in the kitchen, set up tables and chairs, put tablecloths and centerpieces together, etc. This is an annual event that is held at the Brandin' Iron in San Bernardino near the baseball Stadium on "E" St. This is SO rewarding, because yes, I could had been at home with my family, others had meals to prepare, it was early, etc., HOWEVER....just think if we didn't have a stove to cook on, or any groceries to buy for our family, OR any family period...We take so many things for granted DAILY...
It is so rewarding to help others in need, it is nice to see people have a satisfying meal and enjoying their time with a smile on their face.

Remember to be thankful, think about what you have and what other don't have...

Bre's first baby jar food....

Okay, so today we got a little bold and tried some baby food from the baby jar! She did really well! The first one we tried today was the green beens....I don't think she was too hot about it at first, but quickly begin to enjoy the treat! I am glad we tookher clothes off! Green stuff ended up in a few places! It was so cute! Enjoy!

Fires, Winds, and Smoke Oh My!!!






This was a picture of my street yesterday!
Me and Reggie came home to this Sunday evening after a beautiful weekend in San Diego. On our way home from San Diego, we drove through the horrible fires in San Diego / Poway area..it was horrible! So when I got home, was clueless of the fire in Lake Arrowhead...too close for comfort. As you can see the smoke in the background of the pics and how strong the winds were to blow down these elm trees.
4 years ago we had to deal with the Waterman Canyon fires when we had to evacuate...
Well it is Tuesday morning and thank God that winds have calmed down slightly in my area, but still really windy in others. I just pray that winds do not kick up bad enough where the fire changes direction and crawls over the mountain in back of my house. It's funny because you really don't know what to grab when you are forced to evacuate in 15 minuyes. You really can't say what youwould do until you are in that situation, believe me when I say...its kinda weird how that happens.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all families who may be affected by this fire and who may have lost their homes and or businesses or have been threatened. May God bless you all...and whoever is setting these fires, may they rot in you know where!

She Got her Ear Rangs!!!!




Well she did it! I have to admit, she was a soldier! I was real nervous about finally getting it done...i'm all frantic and forgot the dang pacifier at home...realized it when were half way to the mall. Daddy said she wouldn't need it and he was right! She didn't!
The right ear was easy breezy...only flinched byt the pic to the left here was after the left ear..I think it was the noise. But she popped her collar, well her hoodie and was good to go!
Then all of the sudden she copped this dang diva attitude, like, "Where's my water!?" I was like what the heck!? Didn't have any naps..was up till about 11ish...Dad finally put her to sleep with the Jungle Book doing the monkey dance...whatever that was! I put them both out my bedroom, I was pooped man! But she looks so freakin cute! I love her!

Today I went with a group of my Sorors to go see Tyler Perry's new movie, "Why Did I Get Married?" PLEASE GO SEE THE MOVIE!!! Excellent movie, I expected no less. I was just really hoping it was all what it was hyped up to be, and of course it was! Great actors, great story line. I am not going to say too much about the movie here in case you did not see it...go see the movie. Very emotional movie....what a genius Tyler is! You go boy!

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist first. The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

I'm Dying Here!!!

Okay...
I am really trippin here. I am participating in a No Shopping Challenge on my Yahoo group and Lord am I having a hrd time!!! I really feel that now my mind is playing tricks on a sista! Big time! Everywhere I go I see cool stuff! Stuff is just calling my name! "Trisha...., Trisha....!!!"
I know some of my favorite LSS have had some new product arrive and I can't even go look at it because I am weak! So I am really trying my best to just stay away!!! I stay away from the scrapbook section at Target as well. I say to myself, "Well, it won't hurt to look.." Damnit! yes it will hurt me to look! Who am I fooling!? Hello! And why has the damn dollar bins have so much cool stuff I want!? They had some pretty cool ribbon, albums, etc.

There are advantages and disadvantages...

Advantages: Well it will force me to use what I have in my stash! You know I am a professional collector right? Yeah..I have a crap load of stuff...Well SO FAR...I have done well! I just can't wait till this mess is over, cause its giving me a headache!

DISADVANTAGES: Okay...at the end of this challenge..the Ontario Scrapbook Expo is coming up! So what do you think I am gonna do? I will TRY and contain myself! After that SoCal Shop Hop you would think that I don't need anything else....well you know me! It's like freakin CRACK! LOL!

National Card Making Day

Today was fun! I had a good time today making cards in honor of National Card Making Day!
Today, myself, Nancy, Alondra, Jennifer, Tomasa, Holly and Sylvia...and Baby Fiona made cards and scrapbooked today. We had a lot of fun as usual, lots of snacks as I wouldn't expect any less. I have never really took a plunge in card making but I thinkI did pretty well to not make cards on the usual. I made some Christmas cards for the holidays coming up and some Thank You cards which will always be in handy!

We scrapped from about 1:00pm - 9ish...yeah we are die harders! LOL!

So if any of you ladies are reading this, thank you for coming out! Thanks Nancy for taking the long trip and bringing sweet little Baby Fiona! She is getting so big and cute! Hopefully I will see you again this coming Monday! If not, we shall see each other again soon!

Making cards is not a hard task. It will also help diminish the huge "SCRAP" bin of scraps I have...left over from pther projects that I swear I will reuse! So, I will definatelt be making a committment to myself for trying harder on maximizing my purchases and use everything I buy! Since the No Shopping Challenge on our Yahoo board, it has really help me realize that I do have a lot of stuff! I just need to utilize what I have! But its like any scrapper on crack! We need a fix! Anyway, it's late, and I think I am getting into another dangerous topic...let me go before I write another few paragraphs on me being a professional collector of scrap items!

Wednessday Night Woes!

He wants my insurance money! It happened just like in the movies!
Okay, this is kind of a funny story, even more so, because I was wondering what my next blog entry would be...and here we are!

Well Wednessday evening around 11ish...I was on my laptop as usual minding my business instant messageing some friends and Reggie is watching a movie. He was being a cool husband and decided to get some Dibs (new age Bon-Bon's) into a little bowl for us to share....
So, I'm poppin em' back to back...maybe had 5....until my mouth got all tingly...
The same kind of tingly feeling I get when I have an allergic reaction to peanuts or seafood! So, I tell Reggie, "Babe! I think there was a peanut in here! I think I ate it!" So, needless to say, the feeling intensified within minutes, I am in the bathroom, rinsing my mouth out, brushing my teeth, trying to get rid of all remnants of the peanut that was aaccidently in my ice cream!

I'm in the bathroom, frantically trying to rince it all out, while Reggie is by my side making sure I am okay but in the same breath, "Babe! We should sue!" So, I am like, "Boy be quiet! Go get me the box!" I wanted to see the box because you know a lot of times when you go for ice cream they have to put the disclaimer about allergies (peanuts). So I read it and it does say the disclaimer and it says that there are almonds in the ice cream! So I am like "WHAT!?" I turn the cannister around only to see the words, "Nestle Drumstick" written on the front of the box! So I am yelling, "REGGIE!!!!!! YOU GOT THE WRONG KIND!!!"

Okay, so he called himself replacing my Nestle Crunch Dibs with the Nestle Drumstick. The only thing they has in common was that the logo for both was red, white and blue and both made by Nestle! So he picked up the wrong one without reading the lable carefully! So, I am really frantic now! I'm thinking I ate just one little measly peanut, when I actually ate more than that! Within a few more minutes, the feeling intensifies even more! My throat is beginning to become numb, my lips are swelling and my eyes are itching!!! My baby is dead to the world sleeping the night away, I have to go to ER! OMG! CRAP! Last time this happened, there was a peanut on the bottom slice of my pizza and just went to bed hoping I would be fine in the morning....NOT! Last time I looked like an oversized chipmunk! It was so uncool! So I did not want a repeat of what happened last year so I had to go to the hospital!

At this point, Reggie is feeling completely horrible! =( I kept teasing him asking if he wanted my insurance money!? He said it wasn't enough! Sucker! I been giving him a hard time ever since...trying to kill me!

So a shot in my right butt cheek later, and a strong dose of Benedryl, I got sent home...
Another close call....he tried to kill me yall! LOL!

Weekend Has Come and Gone...Bummer

Well as time gets closer it is almost time for me to get back to work...darn!
I have been fortunate to be off work since May for my pregnancy leave. Bre just turned 3 months so at least I was able to stay home for that. I am blessed that she will be going to grandma's and grandpa's house while we are at work during the day. She knows them already very well and is very comfortable with them!

Anyway, my weekend consisted of making money, warm weather, and having fun! Saturday, we had a HUGE garage sale and made lots of money. Myself and my sister in law were out there hustling! Jaylene sold lots of baby stuff, clothes and toys..I had tons of scrapbook stuff, clothes, books, appliances, furniture, etc. Whatever didn't sell was not going back into the house, but will be going to Salvation Army tomorrow!

Sunday, I surprised Reg and took him to one of our favorite spots to eat breakfast, BC's Cafe. It was scrumptious! But we were so full! I should have chosen a different place to eat, because he wasn't aware that I was also taking him to the Los Angeles County Fair afterwards...It was HOT! Oh, and it was pretty pricey! $15 per person to get in and $10 to park! Geez! Not to mention we had to get a little something to quench our thirsts, good thing we weren't hungry. We saw some crazy items there from various vendors, like Fried Coke, Fried Frog Legs, Fried Snickers, Fried Twinkies, and there were a few others...
Even though we were only there for a few hours, we still had a good time with each other. Pictures will be posted later!

3 Months Old Today!


Well Miss Breanna is 3 months today! How exciting! Mommy and daddy have survived as well! Let me tell you....Breanna has been such a blessing to us. Alot of times we are stil in denial that we have a little one around here! Next thing I know she will be crawling with baby teeth coming in, biting on my fingers, while she gives me gut belly laughs!

God is SO good...all the time. Some of you know me and Reg have been married for almost 6 years and miscarried the first go around. We have finally been blessed this go. We realized that HE does things in his timeframe, not ours! We are so blessed....

I love my baby girl so much....

Lets see her accomplishments thus far: She is yelling at me that baby talk, smiling uncontrollably, spitting, blowing some major spit bubbles, recognizes and smiles at us, and grandma and grandpa, loves to watch Baby Einstein, well any cartoon for that matter! Um..what else...she is kinda greedy, but thats okay, I love all her rolls!

Scrap Pink!!!

This weekend many scrapbook stores held events to help support the Susan G. Comen for the cure fundraising campaign. Yesterday our LSS Among Friends (who unfortunatley will be soon closing their doors) held a 12 hour crop. Myself, Alondra and Jennifer were there among some other scrappers. We got a lot of work done. There were goodie bags for all, we all got cute pink breast cancer pins, there was a great cake made resembling the logo for breast cancer, we had some awesome food and everyone sitting at my table won great raffle prizes! Very fun!

It felt good to do this crop knowing that I was supporting a great cause! I have breast cancer survivors in my family...may they continue to stay blessed!

Poo on me!

Yup, Poo on me for not keeping my blog updated! I feel bad everytime one of my blogger friends may come to my page to see the same ole' post over and over again! Well hey, I been busy these days so give me a break!

I kist recently completed the SoCal Shop Hop where you had to go to 29 stores, whew....what a journey! But I had so much fun! Oh, did I mention how broke I was because of it!? Now I need to scrap to put everything I bought to use!

also my baby Bre has definately been keeping me on my toes! The girl is getting big and just doing alot of stuff! She is no longer wanting to be a baby and sit back! She just feels the need toi sit up! She is spitting and blowing some serious spit bubbles, she is blabbering at the tv and sucking the mess out of her wrists! She is too much...definately keeping me on my toes!

My dad andCathy has been down visiting from Arkansas, they have been down for about a month now and will be leaving on Monday. Yup, I am sad...won't see him again until next year, shooting for Thanksgiving. It may be my first attempt to fly with an infant...we will see how that goes.

Other than that, just trying to enjoy the time left from being off work.
I will try and keep up better on the blog!
